Extremadura
It represents the 4% of Spain's production with around 75,000 tonnes of olive oil.
The Designations of Origin in Extremadura are DO Aceite Monterrubio in the province of Badajoz and DO Gata-Hurdes in the province of Cáceres.
The varieties used to elaborate the oil are:
Cornezuelo and Picual, but also varieties such as Mollar, Corniche, Pico-limón, Morilla and Cornicabra in the DO Aceite Monterrubio.
The Manzanilla Cacereña in the DO Gata-Hurdes.
